The clutch is located in the flywheel housing between the engine and the gearbox. The clutch assembly is fixed on the rear plane of the flywheel with screws. The output shaft of the clutch is the input shaft of the gearbox. Whether the clutch can be adjusted or not, vehicles with different configurations are different. As far as the current family car is concerned, clutch control is basically divided into two categories: mechanical clutch and hydraulic clutch. Mechanical clutch means that when the clutch pedal is stepped on, it is mainly controlled by the clutch cable connected to the clutch pedal. Hydraulic clutch means that when the clutch pedal is stepped on, it is mainly controlled by hydraulic pressure. The hydraulic pressure here refers to "brake fluid (brake fluid)".
The existence of the clutch ensures that the car can start smoothly, ensures the smoothness of shifting, and can also prevent the transmission system from overloading. However, if the clutch is too high, too low, too heavy, or too light, it is not suitable.
Clutch height adjustment
Clutch height adjustment, the main adjustment is the clutch control part. The height of the mechanical clutch is adjustable, which can be realized by adjusting the tightness of the clutch cable. Hydraulic clutch height is not adjustable.
Clutch light and weight adjustment, there are two ways to adjust:
1. Fine adjustment can be made by adjusting the clutch control part.
Hydraulic clutch control part is not adjustable.
The mechanical clutch can be adjusted by adjusting the tightness of the clutch cable, or by changing the length of the clutch cable (changing the force arm). Among them, the former method can be fine-tuned, and the latter method has a larger adjustment range, but the latter method already belongs to the scope of modification, and poor adjustment will affect driving safety, so this operation is not recommended.
2. It may also be a component failure, and related components need to be replaced.
It is mainly the failure of the clutch pressure plate, the clutch pressure plate or the release bearing, which is what we usually call the "three-piece clutch set". These parts are consumable parts. If there is a failure or serious wear, the clutch will be too heavy. Yes, and in many cases, the excessive weight of the clutch is the problem of the "three-piece clutch. Generally, the service life of the "three-piece clutch" is almost the same, so it is best to replace it all when replacing it.
